I'm writing in response to the article about Baltimore teachers getting poor evaluations ("Many city teachers ranked unsatisfactory," Feb. 8).
In my opinion, teachers should take responsibility for what grades their students are achieving. Being a student requires effort and academic integrity. However, it is a teacher's job to impart lessons to students. If the teacher is persistently doing a poor job of that, it will affect student achievement.
Therefore, I believe unsatisfactory rates for teachers are honest and justified. If they get unsatisfactory evaluations, the teachers are obviously doing something wrong and need to improve.
