For some teenage girls, not even school offers a place of safety

Regarding your story on the arrest of a Glen Burnie teacher on charges of sexually abusing students, I am wondering how a teacher could get away with such crimes for the past two years on school property ("Glen Burnie teacher charged with sexually abusing students," Dec. 9).

As a 16-year-old girl myself, I feel that if the accusation are true, then he has permanently damaged those girls' lives. The whole situation is absolutely disgusting.

I do not know how I could even go to school if I had to see such a teacher repeatedly and know what was coming next. It is sad that you really can't trust anyone out there, even in school, a place that is supposed to be safe.
