President Obama is "deliberately bringing the economy to its knees," Al Eisner writes The Sun ("Obama re-election in 2012 would be a disaster," June 11). Why? That's easy. He wants to be remembered as the next Herbert Hoover, so often regarded as one of the greatest presidents our country has ever seen. Or maybe he was not born in the United States and is doing everything possible to destroy it for the success of his real birthplace, Mars.

In all seriousness, President Obama is not supporting "amnesty" for illegal immigrants. This is another exaggeration by those would find fault with our president if he stopped global warming or cured cancer. Unlike Ronald Reagan's 1986 amnesty bill, the Dream Act would only apply to illegal immigrants who have earned a high school diploma or GED, are between the ages of 12 and 35, and have resided in the U.S. for at least five years.

In addition, Mr. Eisner writes, the president is trying to "take over" the Internet and conservative talk radio. What does this even mean? Will he issue an executive order directly transgressing the First Amendment? Clearly, Mr. Obama's critics should consider the facts before making preposterous claims about the president.
