Why did Rep. Anthony Weiner have to resign when other sleazy politicians stay? Certainly, it is an appropriate question when we list the number of politicians who have been able to hold office for much greater transgressions, sometimes even while serving prison terms. Mr. Weiner, unfortunately, showed that he was a fool in his handling of what should have been a minor scandal.

With his wife holding an important position under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, this could have also proved to be a pressure point in his almost forced resignation with the embarrassment to not only the U.S. Department of State but to theWhite House.

It would be ironic if Mr. Weiner resigned at the behest of Hillary Clinton while her husband was allowed to stay as president for a more flagrant violation of ethics and morals.
