The article about the six-digit pay of county school administrators ("Balto Co. schools have high administrative costs," March 18) should cause elected officials to investigate why we need so many of them when we are struggling to keep teachers.

I just spoke with a friend who does maintenance in county schools, and he tells me they are short on supplies to the extent he carries extra in his truck so he can fix all the problems without worrying about the parts being at the shop when he needs them.

They can pay administrators, but can't keep the buildings in decent shape. This is not how to run a business.
