I want to thank and congratulate Sen. Catherine Pugh and Del. Samuel Rosenberg for having the good judgment and courage to put education of our children ahead of inflexible teacher union rules by co-sponsoring legislation to allow charter schools like KIPP to have the kind of flexibility that will enable them to thrive. We need every good tool we can harness to improve the delivery of quality education to our public school students. And we need our governor and mayor to publicly advocate reform of our Maryland charter school law to insure KIPP and other public charter schools are able to continue to serve our students. And we need our citizens of come out to urge our elected officials to implement these reforms.
