Bernie Madoff's scheme did not go unnoticed; it is well documented by now that many in the financial industry knew that something was wrong, but, because there is so much questionable activity in this industry, nothing was said ("Lessons from a swindler," Feb. 24). It's the "code of honor."

Whereas everyone can be happy for the victims that seem to be getting their money back and some legal satisfaction as a result of a private investigator, we all must ask, why can't the federal government obtain one criminal prosecution of a high ranking bank official? Why aren't federal investigators releasing to the public bank documents that would allow a class-action lawsuit against the financial fraud culminating in the financial collapse?
