One of your readers, Stanley E. Weinstein, expressed outrage over the attention the recent animal cruelty cases have received, and took a cheap shot at animal lovers and those dedicated to protecting our four-legged friends ("So much concern about animal abuse, so little about child abuse," Feb. 10). He is outraged, claiming children aren't receiving the same attention. His anger should be directed at the criminals who perpetrate the crimes, not those dedicated to seeking justice.
Perhaps Mr. Weinstein should familiarize himself with the numerous studies finding animal abusers are often involved in other crimes such as domestic violence, drug trafficking and child abuse. That's right, Mr. Weinstein, child abuse. Try to see the forest from the trees.
