Welcome back, Gino's

I worked at Gino's from 1962 to 1970. Hamburgers were 15 cents, and cheese burgers were 20 cents. I am sure your readers remember.

I started at $1 an hour and finished my employment at $2.20 when I graduated from college and entered the Marine Corps.

Gino's was a great experience. I learned a lot about responsibility. It also assisted me with paying a portion of my private education to Loyola High School in Towson and 100 percent of my college tuition. To say Gino's was an important part of my life would be an understatement.

I remember taking burgers off the grill during a very busy period (store No. 11, Dundalk Avenue, across from Steelworkers Hall) and Gino watching me. I did OK because I will always remember his positive feedback and encouragement.

I am glad Gino's is back!
