In Balto. Co. exec race, character counts

Wow, Ken Holt must really have Baltimore County Democrats worried! ("Bartenfelder needs to start acting like a Democrat," Readers respond, Oct. 14.) Brian Bailey makes Joe Bartenfelder's reluctance to endorse Kevin Kamenetz sound like simple sour grapes from a sore loser. But maybe, just maybe, Mr. Bartenfelder is reacting to what was clearly revealed by Mr. Kamenentz's dirty, deceptive and deceitful primary campaign.

At certain moments we are reminded that character counts, that character offers a guide to how someone will act in the heat of battle when facing tough challenges. Mr. Kamenetz clearly failed the character test. His "win at any cost" approach leaves me feeling that he is guided by what is best for Kevin Kamenetz, not by what is best for Baltimore County residents.

Ken Holt, by contrast, is all about character in addition to having the skills and experience Baltimore County needs. I'm guessing Joe Bartenfelder knows that, too.
