Don't blame the mortgage lenders

You are kidding, right, when you say that mortgage companies must "demonstrate that they are following the law"? ("Halting foreclosures," Oct. 6.) Isn't that backward? All this time I thought there was a presumption of innocence, and the state had to prove guilt. The mortgage companies have every right, even a responsibility to their stockholders, to aggressively pursue foreclosures as they see fit. The Sun is acting in the multiple roles of accuser, prosecutor and judge. Actually the paper is, as usual, carrying the water for the Democrats as they continue to make business the bogeyman. Must be a heavy load you have shouldered.
