I have just returned from voting; the turnout is poor. It seems that we the people of Maryland worry more about our Orioles and our Ravens than our democracy.

I love sports, but I think the choice of our elected officials is of much greater importance. One would think we are spilling our blood in the Middle East for the gridiron and baseball diamond.
