For the past week, the local media has utterly saturated us with coverage of the appearance of Justin Bieber, a pop singer whose appeal is largely confined to the teeny-bopper set. One would have thought that God himself had ascended from the heavens to visit Baltimore for a crab cake! I just don't get it.
