Should TU accommodate Jewish officer?

I am writing in response to Peter Hermann's article re John David Brown's complaint with Towson University about his inability to work on Jewish Sabbath because he is an Orthodox Jew ("Jewish officer fights dismissal," July 25).

It seems to me, when one is preparing to take a job, one has to determine if the hours and duties may conflict with one's beliefs. If this is the case, then one has to find a job that will fit the parameters of their beliefs. The job/company does not have to fit the person. It is the person's responsibility to find a job compatible with their beliefs.

In the current climate of our society, to be political correct to the entire population, we are losing sight of something called personal responsibility. We are also becoming a society of whiners.

Please note I am Jewish and a relatively observant one.
