I read the Jules Witcover column ("Blaming Bush no longer works for Obama," July 14) in absolute amazement that one of The Baltimore Sun's many liberal journalists still spins the pro-Obama, anti-Bush record with no sense of balance as to accountability.
Just wondering when one of the journalistic wonders of the Baltimore Sun will report on the contributions of their beloved "Democratic favorites" to the demise of the U.S. economy.
They could start with the reduced requirements for obtaining mortgages that was pushed by President Bill Clinton and Rep. Barney Frank in the late '90's, which sent the mortgage market into a tailspin. Several friends of mine work at Fannie Mae, an agency charged with cleaning up the mess that this left. They all marvel at the lack of accountability and the continuing impact that this had on the economy and the number of de-valued houses which are encumbered by mortgages larger than their values. Actions taken by the Democratic leadership had a great deal to do with the reduced values and the acquisition by applicants who could not afford the homes that they were purchasing!
Let's see some balanced reporting by the Sun sometime in this century. The lack of it has resulted in most of my friends cancelling their papers!!
