I am appalled with the Baltimore Sun paper for their obvious support for Republican views and policies. I thought the newspaper was supposed to write the facts without partiality and let readers form their own opinions. With regard to the immigration issues and new policies in Arizona, I am disgusted by the short memories some Americans have, many of whom are descendants of immigrants or undocumented citizens.

This country was founded on immigration, slavery and thievery. Please let us not forget this country was taken from the Indians. Do the immigrants that made their way to America want a better life, an opportunity to make money, and to raise their families? Did they not come to this country to be free? The vast majority of the illegal immigrants in this country are here for those very reasons. If life was so good for them in Mexico, or other poor countries, they would have stayed in those countries.

I am not saying don't patrol the borders. Yes, we need to protect our border. However, we do have a large population of undocumented citizens (illegal immigrants) who are afraid to apply for citizenship or use any other forms of services for fear of being deported. What are we going to do for them? These are the people that are doing the jobs no one else wants to do. These are the people that we pay less and work them harder, and now we are complaining. Well, shame on all of us. This is supposed to be the land of the free.
