This is in reply to the letter from Douglas J. Kaplan (Readers Respond, July 8) in which he asks whether or not global warming is a hoax. I suppose he asked this question because it got a tad hot this week.

Doug, a quick weather related lesson for you. In Baltimore, Maryland during the summers it does get hot, AND we do have periodic droughts. Just as in the winter, for some reason, it will get cold in this state, AND sometimes it also snows.
