Baltimore hasn't cut its budget nearly enough

The mayor and City Council would not know a cut if they bled to death from it! Yes, new/revised taxes will be necessary, but more serious cuts are needed as well. All middle management positions need to be reduced by 50 percent, and deputy mayoral positions and staffs must be eliminated. In a city this size, these political plum jobs cannot be justified. There needs to be at least one furlough day per month for all city employees. This is what is going on in the private sector, and government must get in line. Remember it's the citizens who are working under layoffs and pay cuts who still have to foot the bill.
