How transparent have police been about shooting investigation?

It was originally made public by Baltimore City Police that Tyrone Brown, shot execution-style by Officer Gahiji Tshamba, was a victim of six shots fired from Tshamba's service revolver. Later, police said it was nine.

On Sunday that number was altered to 13 shots fired and 12 wounds. Was the Baltimore City Police Department trying to minimize the incident by originally announcing that Brown was struck six times? It certainly seems that way.

It's one thing for the police department to defend its own personnel, but with a crime so heinous as this, I still have my doubts as to why the original report was submitted at six shots.

Total transparency to the public regarding this regrettable occurrence should certainly be demanded by the citizens of Baltimore, and nothing less than that.
