Cop out of control

In 1998, Police Officer Gahiji A. Tshamba shot a robbery suspect in the back.

"The man fell to the pavement still clutching his silver-colored gun. Officer Tshamba had to pry the gun out of the wounded man's hands. I remember it like it was yesterday. He saved my life," Officer Dino Gregory said.

Boy, I can't wait for the movie to come out.

In 2001, Officer Tshamba arrested a woman after a routine traffic stop and sent her to the city's Central Booking and Intake center, where she was subjected to a strip search. All the tickets were thrown out in court and the woman reached an undisclosed civil settlement with the city in 2005.

In Sept. 2005, he shot a man in the foot after an off-duty confrontation outside a bar. He was disciplined because he was under the influence of alcohol at the time he fired his weapon.

On June 5, 2010 Officer Tshamba fired his department-issued weapon 13 times at an unarmed man at 1:30 a.m. outside the rear door of the Club Hippo. The Glock service weapon holds 14 rounds, and there were no bullets left in the magazine analyzed by investigators.

Tyrone Brown, a 32-year-old former Marine was hit six times in the chest and groin and died less than an hour later. Officer Tshamba refused to take a breath test to determine if he had been drinking.

Officer Tshamba should be removed from the force and prosecuted for the 2nd degree murder of Mr. Brown.
