I can understand your not feeling the need to comment on the condition of the police beating victim in today's main editorial ("Taking responsibility," April 15), but the absence of any such information about John McKenna's condition following the beating in Wednesday's article ("Campus outrage," April 14) is difficult to understand. Shouldn't the condition of the alleged beating victim be part of the story? Is he covered with bruises, suffering contusions, broken bones? I am sure that I am not the only reader who would appreciate getting some details relating to this. It would help greatly in trying to assess the violence of the beating. It is quite possible that it looks worse on the video that it really was.
