Gibbons boys lost in the lurch

The article on the sons of Bobby Flynn touches on an unfortunate situation for many of the underclassmen at Gibbons ("A hardwood legacy departs with school," March 25). The archdiocese did not offer and really does not have a realistic plan to offer these young men a Catholic school education next year. The archdiocese says that 10 other schools can accommodate the 300 Gibbons boys. What the archdiocese did not say publicly that this is true only if they can meet the entrance requirements, come up with all or most of the higher tuition and get to the schools, most of which are on the other side of town. The position of the archdiocese in this regard is disingenuous at best!
