Last spring, the city bought the Senator Theater for around $800,000. As a Baltimore taxpayer trying to survive the recession, I believe the Senator should be sold to Buzz Cusack, the owner of the Charles Theatre ("WTMD bid to take over Senator draws concerns," Jan. 29). Thus the taxpayers will get back their investment.
Obviously, Tom Keifaber, the failed owner of the Senator, doesn't want his successful rival to own the theater. Plus, it is important to ask if Mr. Keifaber has an agenda. Will he in any way be involved with the Senator if WTMD and Towson University take over the theater? He failed as the owner over and over again, and somehow he has gotten a free pass to run the theater for months without paying rent to the city. Why does he want WTMD to turn a movie theater into a concert hall when Buzz Cusack wants to keep the movie theater a movie theater? The rumor is that Mr. Keifaber will be the new manager if WTMD takes over.
