The only thing I know about the upcoming mayor is what I read in Dan Rodricks' column ("For Baltimore, Rawlings-Blake a fine reflection of her father," Jan. 8). Her background and her father's legacy will do much to help Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. She's not expected to do and know everything. But she will be expected to have a ready resource of experts around her to help her. As council president, she understands this. Now that she will be mayor, I can imagine her biggest challenge will be, "How can I continue to grow the legacy left by my dad?" The job of the mayor is a fiduciary one -- a position of trust. Sheila Dixon never did grasp the importance of that.
