This letter is in response to Susan Reimer's January 11 column "Body image issues get a new meaning."
Ms. Reimer said she was concerned about how her self-esteem would be affected by a full body scan. Get over it Susan! If it makes passengers safer in flight, I'm all for it. After screening personnel have viewed thousands of overweight and out-of-shape folks, do you really think they're going to care about your body? I doubt it. And if they do store images, so what.
Frankly, I'm tired of the moaning and groaning from people so worried about their fragile self- esteem when there are elements in the world wishing us dire harm. Get a self-help book to read while you're being transported by bus on your next trip.
