House panel's 'holier' attitude

I recently watched the coverage of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee grilling U.S. Secret Service Director Julia Pierson on the ineptness of the Secret Service allowing a breach in security at the White House ("Cummings suggests Pierson should resign Secret Service post," Oct. 1).

It seemed to me a bit comical hearing these committee members question Ms. Pierson on her failure. Surely, this incident was unacceptable based on the training and track record of the Secret Service, but hearing the questioning from these committee members appeared to me as the pot calling the kettle black.

Perhaps they should be questioning their own inabilities to perform and lose the "holier than thou" attitude. I look for an Emmy for Best Comedy Performance in 2014!
