Thanks for an act of kindness

I'd like to thank a woman named Demetria Creek who I do not know and cannot find a way to reach. She returned my lost driver's license to me.

On Oct. 21, I lost my license in downtown Annapolis while on my last run before the Marine Corps Marathon. I was feeling pretty anxious about the marathon and I needed my license to pick up my race bib. I retraced my run several times checking with the police officers I saw at City Dock and with a couple of dog-walkers I recognized. Nothing. But within a day, my license arrived in the mail with a lovely note from Ms. Creek.

She did not include a return address, however. I hope that anyone who reads this and knows her will give her a special hug from me. Thank you, Demetria Creek. I'll pay it forward.
