The media is ginning up outrage over the Ray Rice affair

Am I the only one who wishes that Roger Goodell and the Ravens would tell the media to shove it? Since when is it more an employer's responsibility to punish employees for their sins than it is for the criminal justice system ("As Rice case unfolds, Ravens, NFL act as if they still have something to hide," Oct. 25)?

As weak and lame as the NFL's initial punishment of Ray Rice may have been, it was still more severe than what the court meted out. If you receive a $200 speeding ticket and the court lets you off with only paying $100, should your employer be able to tack on an additional $75?

In no way am I suggesting that speeding equates to assault and battery. But the point is that the outrage generated by and in the media is misplaced.
