Close but no cigar: O's will try again next year

Having read Jonathan Pitts and Jean Marbella's story about the pain of the Orioles loss in the ALCS, I really feel for the team and its fans ("Sorrow in Baltimore as team that swept us off our feet is swept by K.C.," Oct. 15).

Your team is very talented. But it was a little off for the series, and it caught a red-hot Royals team.

As a long-suffering Royals fan who used to spend a lot of time in the Baltimore-D.C. area, I have seen the O's play at Camden Yards and know how frustrating it can be to come close but still not get there.

Hang in there people. You have a great manager, a great park, great fans and your time will come.
