Obama casts himself as a dictator with immigration action

On Thursday President Barack Obama granted amnesty to 5 million illegal aliens even though he declared it is not amnesty ("Obama makes his case for immigration action," Nov. 21). He has lost credibility with all the lies he has said in the past six years as president. What he did was unconstitutional. In the past four years he has said 25 different times that he is not an emperor and that Congress makes the laws, not him. Just because the House did not take any action for 15 months on the Senate passed immigration bill does not give the president the authority to violate the Constitution. The liberals in the press and Democrats in Congress compare the president's illegal action on immigration to what President Reagan did in 1986. The truth is that in 1986 President Reagan signed into law what the House and Senate passed on immigration. He did not take illegal action like President Obama did.

The president thinks that America needs to be a third world country and not a superpower. His actions speak for themselves with reducing our defense, the economy performing at sub par level, rising national debt, and now making 5 million immigrants legal. Millions of Americans do not have jobs and the wages are down. Nearly 56 percent of Americans know that the economic and political systems are stacked against them. More illegal immigrants will now come to the U.S. like a tidal wave. The president makes it sound like these people are saints. Last year he ordered the release of more than 36,000 criminal illegal aliens from our prisons, yet he had the audacity to tell us that criminal illegal immigrants will be deported.

Finally, the immigration law is not broken, and America is not broken as many in the liberal media and the liberal politicians would make you believe. What needs to be fixed are crooked politicians and leaders who put themselves first before the country. The president, with his dictator-like action on immigration, is damaging the presidency itself. This is a dangerous precedent for future presidents to violate the Constitution like President Obama did on immigration.
