Despite common misconceptions, Muslims hold Jesus and Mary in high regard.
The Quran reads, "When the angels said, 'O Mary, Allah gives thee glad tidings of a son through a Word from Him; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honored in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God'" (3:46). While we don't celebrate with gift giving and decorations during this time of year, we are mindful of the sensibilities of our Christian neighbors and join them in prayers for peace on Earth.
Let's let our common respect for Jesus and Mary serve as a basis for our dialogue and prayers for peace.
