Congratulations to the powers behind the facade of the Republican Party. They have done an excellent job of transforming a complicated society into a handful of issues which, despite factual evidence to the contrary, have proven to be all that was needed to galvanize their followers and cast doubt on a country becoming healthier by the day.
A strict orthodoxy of talking points and mantras were devised and repeated so consistently and frequently that every letter to the editor, every conservative talk show host, can be heard pronouncing variations on them over and over again. It's almost been like watching the birth of a new religion.
Well done, gentlemen. I applaud your current success. It's a tad unfortunate that the majority of Americans disagree with many points in your orthodoxy, however, so the next election cycle should prove very interesting.
