GOP agenda should include foreign policy

The commentary, "OK, GOP, time for a good plan" (Nov. 6), by Peter Morici, lists a series of issues that the GOP-controlled Congress should address but doesn't mention foreign policy. The Republicans should end all U.S. foreign wars and not start any new ones. They should end all U.S. foreign aid, starting with the $3 billion welfare check that we give to Israel every year and foster dialogue and trade with all nations including Iran while favoring no nation, especially Israel.

Congress must work to end our out-of-control welfare-warfare wasteful spending, which would lead to a balanced budget. Unfortunately, too many Republican hawks prefer war over peace and Israel over America, which has caused the U.S. so much harm and expense. Instead, we need a non-interventionist foreign policy which will make America more solvent and more secure.
