The Sun editorial, "Horror in Peshawar" (Dec.16), describes the Taliban attack in Pakistan that left 140 children dead and states, "What happened there can only be described as an atrocity committed by murderous criminals." Why didn't The Sun equally condemn the actions of Israel, which caused the deaths of 500 Palestinian children in Gaza this past summer — on beaches, playgrounds, schools and UN safe houses? Why didn't The Sun also accuse Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza, the same way that Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch did, both calling for the U.S. to end all weapons transfers to Israel?
Defense for Children International estimates that, on average, one Palestinian child has been killed every three days by Israel since 2000. Now is the time for the U.S. to end all financial, military and diplomatic aid to Israel.
