It is disappointing but not surprising that the Carroll County GOP Central Committee nominated ex-Commissioner Robin Frazier to replace Joe Getty in the Senate ("Hogan's fringe flank," Jan. 13). Why would they reward the woman who lost the same election twice with a prized Senate seat? The will of the voters was completely ignored. The committee wants puppets, not strong GOP leaders.
As a conservative female Christian, I am embarrassed by how Ms. Frazier has represented Carroll County and the groups she claims to exemplify. Crying in public meetings and making them all about her hurt feelings, pandering to certain groups and whining about being treated unfairly are just some of the actions I've seen her make during county meetings.
I have watched her recite all the "right" conservative mottoes and provoke liberals to bring lawsuits so she could gain national recognition and claim to be a conservative martyr. These actions and behaviors have made Carroll County a joke and hurt the Republican cause. Why not select a strong GOP leader who has already exhibited experience and professionalism in Annapolis?
Choosing an emotional, selfish and unprofessional candidate will only hurt Maryland, Republicans and Baltimore and Carroll Counties in the end. Gov.-elect Larry Hogan, please choose a competent and professional individual to represent District 5.
