Half-hearted endorsement for Brown rings hollow

I have to take The Sun to task. Why does your newspaper feel compelled to back a particular politician, especially if he or she is the proverbial lesser of two evils? Your backing of Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown for governor was a shining example of politics as usual in our state ("Brown for governor," Oct. 25).

The endorsement had no backbone, no real feeling of believability. The word hollow comes to mind.

It seems to me you have left yourself an out by endorsing the inept, insecure Mr. Brown. If he does indeed become our next governor, the opinion writers in your editorial department can exhale a half-hearted sigh of relief at their half-hearted endorsement.
