Adrian Peterson got off easy compared to Ray Rice

Evidently child abuse is not as important as adult abuse. The Minnesota Vikings' Adrian Peterson was suspended only until the end of this season while the Ravens' Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely and lost his contract.

What both did is inexcusable, but it seems the punishments don't really fit the crimes on comparison. A defenseless child is not adequately protected. This is in itself a crime and ought to have been addressed.

If justice is to be served, Mr. Peterson deserves a much longer suspension and the loss of his contract as well.
