Brown was unknown to me

I am a card-carrying Democrat, and voted the Democratic ticket in Maryland — except for a blank vote for governor ("Hogan defeats Brown," Nov. 5). The reason is pretty simple: Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown never gave me one reason to vote for him.

I know three things about him. First, he was in charge of the health care roll-out. Two, he didn't explain that fiasco during the Democratic primary when he refused to debate and level with voters. Three, he sent me so many negative mailers about his opponent that I called the Democratic Party to ask them to stop and instead tell me what Mr. Brown stood for. They didn't tell me a thing about Mr. Brown, but they kept on sending me their political hate mail.

I don't like Larry Hogan's politics and don't support him. But I simply will not vote for a candidate who sends me two dozen fliers without even once writing his name on one of them.
