No he didn't. Bill Cosby didn't just play the race card.
He recently broke his silence by calling on the black media to defend him — or at least "go in with a neutral mind," as he put it.
That would be a cheapening of the race card and its effectiveness in calling out racism. This is not how we roll, and black people shouldn't be played as accessories after the fact.
The Cosby stance has to go something like this: They just don't understand how we get down and they are trying to lynch me before I'm tried in a court.
Well, if there were a lynch mob, it would be those dozens of women who have concocted a pretty consistent modus operandi of a rapist. My biggest reservation is that all the women claimed they were drugged and that it has taken them 20 years to come to.
Otherwise, I'm sorry but the most I and the black media should do for Mr. Cosby is to withhold judgment until his day in court.
