Police officers, not 'cops'

While reading The Sun's editorial, "Baltimore's thin blue line" (Dec. 16), I noted that you were pointing out some of the ways community respect is shown toward Baltimore police officers with which I totally agreed. However, I was disappointed how one sentence ended: "These are a few of the ways the people of Baltimore show their respect for cops."

It is my opinion that the use of the word, "cops," instead "police officers" is an unintended slur toward the police.
