I find it inexcusable that Bishop Eugene Sutton stood by as Episcopal delegates elected Heather Cook Bishop Suffragan without any knowledge of her prior 2010 DUI conviction, which is a matter of public record ("Bishop called 2010 DUI arrest 'a major wake-up call,'" Jan. 31).
Any candidate for any position should be viewed "warts and all." Anything less is deceitful at best.
I am a lifelong Episcopalian who has lost all confidence in the leadership of the Diocese of Maryland.
