Thank you for the editorial, "All bark but no bite on school layoffs" (June 11).
As a 46-year resident of the city, it struck me when I was first came here and continues to strike me how so many council members are re-elected term after term yet as a group seem to do so little to "deliver the bacon" to their districts. The occasional histrionics similar to what your editorial mentions seems to be the general rule.
Perhaps a new William Donald Schaefer-like "cabal" is the only way to get it done.
