Naval Academy should not have mandatory prayers

Talbot Manvel's article about freedom from religion was very much on the mark ("Naval Academy tradition vs. Constitution," May 17).

The noon lunch crowd at the Naval Academy is a captive audience forced to hear religious ramblings whether they like it or not. Totally unconstitutional. That's what places of worship are made for.

Mr. Manvel stated the case eloquently. Want religion? Go to a house of worship or pray privately to yourself. So simple. So fair to all.
