We are subscribers to The Baltimore Sun, and we are also a season ticket holders to the Baltimore Blast soccer team. What we don't understand is why you consistently put a winning team like the Blast on an inside page of the sports section.
Yes, we have the Orioles and the Ravens. But we also have the Blast. Why not "blast" their games and game times on Page One during the season? Instead, you put high school and college sports all over the front page when there is no Ravens news.
This is a winning team, and they deserve credit for their efforts. It seems we go through this during every soccer season. If you started putting their games on the front page attendance would certainly pick up.
Soccer is one of the least expensive professional sports events around. We know families that come from as far away as Frederick to see the Blast play. There's something wrong about always putting them on the back pages. It's important for the team to receive the publicity they deserve.
