Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and the City Council have shown their lack of respect for the residents of Baltimore City by spending their tax dollars to support illegal immigrants. They have demonstrated a lack of ability to protect the people living in Baltimore from shootings and crime. Now, they want to punish the poor with a tax on plastic bags ("Fee on plastic bags distributed in Baltimore wins committee approval," Nov. 5).
Poor people can't go out to the counties to do their shopping, and small businesses will lose customers due to a bag tax. Maybe the city's elected leaders should remember the recent election.
