Alonso: Too much money for too little result

Baltimore taxpayers pay Baltimore schools CEO Andres Alonso over a quarter of a million dollars a year as well as money for a car and driver ("Alonso signs on for four more years," July 1). Why can't he drive himself to work?

In the new contract he can get a bonus if he achieves certain goals, but why didn't he have such goals in his first contract? The falling test scores and low test scores reported across the school system show his leadership is not working.

Once again, Baltimore's leaders are spending money they do not have. Have Maryland taxpayers forgotten how state dollars have been used to bail out city schools?
