Your editorial on schools CEO Andrés Alonso's having a security detail and driver completely misses the point and distracts attention away from what is important ("Driving Mr. Alonso," March 6).
The CEO needs protection, and we need him to be preparing for his next meeting, not waiting at a stoplight on North Avenue like the rest of us.
The real news is that Mr. Alonso has consistently focused on creating a better school system. I do not agree with all his decisions, but we should be talking about what a good education can mean for the children of this city.
Why doesn't The Sun report on that? Just when we are starting to get somewhere, let's not fall into the mistake of dreaming too small.
