Legacy display Tour the Wiley H. Bates Legacy Center, located adjacent to the senior center, at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, to see the exhibit, highlighting the 1864 Emancipation of Maryland Quilt.

North Carolina The trip committee is accepting reservations for an excursion April 20-23 to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C. The trip features a visit to the Biltmore Estate's Festival of Flowers, an exhibit of costumes from the British TV series "Downton Abbey" and a tour of Asheville. Cost is $575 per person for double occupancy, $515 for triple occupancy and $485 for four. Fliers are available with more details.

Brooklyn Park Center

Diabetes check Alicia Blake will present a program on diabetes and the need to regularly check blood sugar from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11.

Valentine's celebration The event will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. Enter the Valentine's poetry contest. Cost is $3.

Ballroom dance Classes are held at 1 p.m. Mondays.

English Basic Skills An English basic skills course is available from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Classes integrate listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

O'Malley Center

The following activities are offered at the O'Malley Senior Activity Center, 1270 Odenton Road in Odenton. Information: 410-222-6227:

Mr. Charisma Cameron Robertson, "Mr. Charisma," will perform at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10.

Quilt Club Participants can help one another with projects and learn ideas and techniques at 1 p.m. Fridays at the O'Malley Annex. Sewing machines are available. New members are welcome.

Pascal Center

Valentine card making Susan Brown will conduct a rubber-stamping workshop from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5. Cost is $10 and covers all supplies.

Wii open bowling is available Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. except on the third Tuesday, when play begins at 1 p.m.

Book club The center's club meets at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6.

South County Center

Knitting Group meets from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Mondays of each month. All levels of expertise are welcome.

Beginning tap dance An introduction to tap will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays. No experience is needed. The instructor is Vicki Smith. Fee is $40.

Jazz dance Vicki Smith leads a class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Fridays. All levels of experience are welcome. Fee is $40.

Creative Crafts Evelyn Bacon will lead classes from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays. Fee is $40.

Aquacise An exercise program conducted in warm water to improve flexibility, mobility and range of motion and boost stamina will take place from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center, 2690 Riva Road in Annapolis. Cost is $40.

Support groups

The Department of Aging and Disabilities has updated a booklet on community support groups. The booklet focuses on groups for caregivers, Alzheimer's disease, bereavement for adults and children, diabetes, brain injury, cancer, stroke, cardiac and pulmonary problems, Parkinson's disease, and bowel and urinary diversions.
