Virginia G. 'Ginger' Clark, Realtor

Virginia Scott Gregory Clark (unknown, Baltimore Sun)

Virginia G. "Ginger" Clark, a retired Realtor who was active in several historical societies, died Sunday of cancer at Grace Rehabilitation Center in Vero Beach, Fla.

The former longtime Ellicott City resident was 83.

The daughter of Richard Hebert Gregory, an executive salesman, and Adelaide Louise Nelson Gregory, Virginia Scott Gregory was born in Baltimore and raised in Forest Park.

After graduating in 1949 from Western High School, she worked as an administrative assistant at Sun Life Insurance Co.

In 1955, she married Joseph Hopkins Clark, a civil engineer, and the couple settled in Ellicott City, where they raised their family.

Mrs. Clark earned a real estate license in 1979 and went to work for Russell T. Baker & Co. and later for Coldwell Banker, from which she retired in 1997.

She was active in the Maryland and Howard County historical societies and the historic Ellicott family graveyard in Ellicott City.

She was also a member of the Forest Hills Swim and Tennis Club and the Howard County PTA. She was a member of the Garden Gate Garden Club.

Mrs. Clark and her husband were world travelers and members of several gourmet dining clubs. She also was a photographer and gourmet cook.

In 1997, she and her husband moved to Vero Beach. He died in 2011.

Mrs. Clark was a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church, 9120 Frederick Road, Ellicott City, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Clark is survived by a son, Andrew Ellicott "Drew" Clark of Cooksville; a daughter, Scottie Clark Campbell of Vero Beach; and three grandchildren.
