Stephen A. Pfeifer, a retired Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. project manager and former Parkton resident, died June 11 of multiple organ failure at Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
He was 62.
Born in Baltimore, Mr. Pfeifer was raised in Essex and Dundalk. He was a 1968 graduate of Dundalk High School, where he played lacrosse and football.
He began working for BGE in 1968, eventually rising to become a project manager. He retired in 2010.
While living in Dundalk, he was a member of the Masons and president of the PTA. He was also a member of the Dundalk Athletic Club and volunteered with the Dundalk Heritage Fair.
After moving to Parkton, he was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion.
He moved to Oak Hills, Fla., after retiring from BGE. He enjoyed travel and visiting Disney World.
Mr. Pfeifer was an avid Ravens football and Johns Hopkins University lacrosse fan.
A memorial service for Mr. Pfeifer will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Dundalk American Legion Post 38, 3300 Dundalk Ave.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, the former Ann Rego; two brothers, Raymond Pfeifer and Charles Pfeifer, both of Dundalk; two sisters, Mary Oppel of Dundalk and Georgeanna Brown of Fort Myers, Fla.; and his stepmother, Elsyanne Pfeifer of Dundalk. His daughter, Jennifer Dryden, died in 2008. A first marriage ended in divorce.
